The Drive Clinic (part of Psychology Network) provides a comprehensive range of evidence-based treatments for road trauma sufferers. It is the first multi-modality treatment centre in the UK, bringing together Psychologists, Cognitive Behavioural Therapists and EMDR practitioners with qualified, experienced driving professionals.

Although most people spontaneously recovery from their post-accident trauma symptoms, a significant number of people involved in accidents experience ongoing difficulties and, crucially, some degree of driving avoidance. This not only directly impairs the sufferers' quality of life but can have serious financial implications when it affects their ability to work.

Our approach is based on integrating trauma therapy with appropriate driving exposure and practice in controlled conditions, supervised by a therapist and/or driving professional. The aim is to allow the client to develop confidence more quickly and in a broader range of environments than could be achieved by traditional psychological therapy.

Driving exposure work is always assessment-led and is woven into treatment just like any other component of therapy.
